Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 July 2026. This policy explains how OperExa uses cookies and similar technologies on its marketing site and inside the product. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage and pixel tags. We use them to keep you signed in, remember settings and measure aggregate usage where you have agreed to analytics.
2. Cookies we use
| Name / purpose | Category | Set by | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session (Supabase auth token) | Strictly necessary | First-party (localStorage) | Duration of session + refresh window |
| Current venue / site selection | Strictly necessary | First-party (localStorage) | Until changed |
| Theme (dark / light) preference | Strictly necessary | First-party (localStorage) | Until changed |
| CSRF / cross-origin protection | Strictly necessary | First-party | Session |
| Error diagnostics | Strictly necessary | First-party | Volatile |
| Cookie consent preference | Strictly necessary | First-party (localStorage) | Until changed or cleared |
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
Google Analytics is optional and only loads if you accept analytics cookies. We do not set advertising, marketing, session-recording, social-media or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Consent and choices
UK PECR requires clear consent for cookies and similar technologies that are not strictly necessary. OperExa therefore keeps analytics off by default and shows a cookie banner with equal options to accept or reject analytics cookies. Strictly necessary storage remains active because it is needed for sign-in, security and selected preferences.
You can update your analytics choice at any time. Rejecting analytics does not affect your ability to use the website or product.
4. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking future cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and site selection.
